IBM Corporate Service Corps Volunteers Lecture at DabaweGNU Lab
Last July 31 and August 8, 2008, several IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC) volunteers lectured at the DabaweGNU computer lab. This was part of their assistance to DabaweGNU, Inc. as one of their clients in the IBM CSC program. The CSC is IBM's way of giving back to the community by sending executives to various countries to assist organizations in their endeavors.
During the first lecture, Sreejith Sankarapillai, a long time IBM Program Manager in India, shared his knowledge on Project Management and Software Development LifeCycle. He was assisted by a fellow IBM CSC volunteer, Liang Zhang, from China. There were about 40 participants who attended coming from different backgrounds.
On the second lecture series, Rafael Cunha from IBM Brazil, presented on Web Marketing and Strategy. His lecture was followed by an online presentation on the basics of Java. Sanoob Francis, one of Sreejith's Java architects, conducted his lecture online via voice over IP. This was the first online presentation that happened at the DabaweGNU lab. And it was a relief that no major problems occurred during the lecture. The day ended with Sreejith continuing his lecture on Project Management. Like, the first one, the second lecture was well attended.
